What does lockdown mean for someone without a home?
 
With the world 'on pause' for the foreseeable future, those suffering from financial hardships are expected to wait out a global pandemic with little hope of finding work or a place to live. According to research completed by the Australian Council of Social Service, approximately 13.3% of the Australian population live below the poverty line, and increased benefits will not be enough to improve their already dire circumstances.
 
They need our support now more than ever, and we're here to help. Every dark cloud has a silver lining. And every staircase has its peak.
 
Health guidelines and the subsequent government restrictions have granted many some extra free time, and we'd like to use this time for good. On the 18th of April, Jay & Roxy will be climbing the staircase in their apartment building - again and again and again - to raise money for Mission Australia, a charity that commits to projects in social housing, employment and training, and supporting those with additctions and other mental health issues. This is a small scale fundraiser, and 100% of the money raised will be donated to Mission Australia. There is no motive here other than to host a fun, online event and raise some money for a good cause.
 
This global pandemic will affect EVERYONE, but some are in more need than others. It's time to reach out and lend a helping hand, so that we can climb these stairs together.
