For too many Australians, homelessness isn't a choice
Every night, more than 122,000 Australians have no safe place to call home. Behind that number are children, families, young people, older Australians and individuals facing circumstances many of us can scarcely imagine.
At Sant Nirankari Mission, our team Together for Humanity (volunteers across Melbourne) has come together to demonstrate compassion through action. We are taking part in the Mission Australia Sleepout because no one should have to face hardship alone.
We know that spending one night outdoors is nothing like the reality of homelessness. But if one night can help raise awareness and much-needed funds, it is a small step worth taking.
Every dollar raised helps Mission Australia provide more than emergency assistance. It helps people find safe and affordable housing, supports children and families, empowers young people, and gives individuals experiencing homelessness the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity, hope and stability.
