Make things right — together

Tonight, more than 122,000 Australians don’t have a safe place to sleep. Families, older women, young people and single parents are facing homelessness in every part of the country.

To shine a light on this crisis, more than 50 volunteer singers, musicians and composers came together to create a powerful new song of hope and solidarity. Please enjoy the video below — and if it moves you, your donation today can change someone’s life.

The song was recorded at ABC Studios and brought to life by a national team of volunteers who wanted to stand with people experiencing homelessness. Your support turns its message into real‑world impact.

Your kindness becomes someone’s turning point

Every donation goes directly to Mission Australia, helping provide:

  • Crisis accommodation for people with nowhere safe to sleep
  • Support for families escaping unsafe situations
  • Food, hygiene packs and essentials for people starting again
  • Pathways into stable housing and long‑term support

About the song project

This project began as the housing and cost‑of‑living crisis began to hit hard, when the need for support was rising sharply. It was initiated by Dr Gillian Eastgate, then shaped and strengthened by:

  • Stan Ghys — Project Director
  • A volunteer choir from across Australia
  • Emerging composers from a Festival of Voices songwriting workshop
  • Paul Jarman — refining the composition and conducting
  • Suze Pratten and Lucy Armstrong — rehearsal support
  • Paul Jarman and Stewart Peters (Soundshed Music) — production and mixing

The message is simple and urgent: When we stand together, we can make things right.

Thank you for standing with us
