Make things right — together

Tonight, more than 122,000 Australians don’t have a safe place to sleep. Families, older women, young people and single parents are facing homelessness in every part of the country.

To shine a light on this crisis, over 50 volunteer singers, musicians and composers came together to create a powerful new song of hope and solidarity. Enjoy the song below — and if it moves you, your donation today can change someone’s life.

About the song project

The song was recorded at ABC’s studios and brought to life by the volunteers, wanting to stand with people experiencing homelessness. Your support turns its message into real‑world impact.

This project began as the housing and cost‑of‑living crisis began to hit hard, when the need for support was rising sharply. It was initiated by Dr Gillian Eastgate, then shaped and strengthened by:

  • Stan Ghys — Project Director
  • A volunteer choir from across Australia
  • Emerging composers from a Festival of Voices songwriting workshop
  • Paul Jarman — refining the composition and conducting
  • Suze Pratten and Lucy Armstrong — rehearsal support
  • Paul Jarman and Stewart Peters (Soundshed Music) — production and mixing

The message is simple and urgent: When we stand together, we can make things right.

Thank you for standing with us

Your support helps Australians experiencing homelessness find safety, stability and a chance to rebuild. Please donate if you can — and share the song to help spread the message of hope.
