A reminder of the blessings I often forget I have and showing God's love through action and deed.
Often I continue on my path through life without stopping to notice how I have been blessed. My life has been easy and yet I unthankful. Never hungry or thirsty without sustenance to fill me and yet, I want more. I play the violin and have beautiful melodies fill my ear and still, some will not ever play even though they desperately want too because they are just scraping by. I say I want to help but I often forget and walk on. Today is different though. I am doing this Sleepout to remind myself of how blessed I am and showing God's love through supporting those who need it most.
As it says in 1 John 3:16-18:
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
I will give some of my money to help support Mission Australia but I know with your help our combined impact will be greater than I ever could alone. Every small bit counts so I thank you in advance for your support. Just $22 can buy a set of sheets to keep a child warm and $299 can fit out a whole bedroom with basics. Together we can help those at risk or experiencing homelessness.
I am thankful for a school that will stand together to show God's love through actions and not just words. We will make a difference. Thank you for helping.
